Mi-Si Magpie hits Broadway.

Mi-Si’s Magpie soundhole pickup has passed the audition. Steven Bargonetti, music director, arranger, composer, and guitarist, has chosen Magpie to amplify and represent his acoustic guitars. Bargonetti, who is a regular in Broadway orchestra pits, including “Hair,” “The Color Purple” and the featured guitar player in Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Suzan-Lori Parks’ “Father Comes Home from the Wars,” loves the Magpie’s balanced tone.

“This pickup has a very warm yet sparkling tone, with great sustain,” Bargonetti says. “It’s a breeze to put the Magpie on your acoustic guitar without permanent installation, with easy access to the volume and tone controls, too. Bargonetti relies on the Magpie for the full range of his performing needs, whether that’s on Broadway, or performing with the “Sesame Street” band, recording TV show themes, jingles, or TV specials. “What’s even more appealing is that it sounds fantastic when playing through electric guitar effects,” Bargonetti says. “Mi-Si’s Magpie is a winner!”
